Vancouver Day 1

Hello friends and family,

So sadly I do not have any pictures to post! I didn't take even ONE picture today! How sad! I honestly didn't even think about it, I was just living in the moments!

So firstly, the plane ride went quite well actually. By the time I was on the plane my medication came into play (and lack of sleep!) and I was exhausted! So I fell asleep before we even took off! Then I woke up when we did finally take off, then back to sleep then awake etc etc... I did watch about 35 minutes of Dinner for Smucks though. :) I sat between two boys around my age or older, to my left was colouring in his biology textbook (this is my interpretation of the textbook), and the other side held a tiny pink laptop (and he was lovely to look at might I add!). So overall the plane ride was a big success!

Danielle met me at the airport and we drove back to Surrey and met up with Kyle at his place. We sat and talked for awhile (2 hours I think?) and finally decided we were hungry! So Kyle drove me and Danielle to the King George (I think it was George?) sky train station, and we sat on there for the 35-40 minute ride to downtown Vancouver! It was really neat, I sort of felt like I was on a roller coaster though, said medication had worn off by then and my vertigo had decided to play little tricks on my tummy. I was okay just a bit whoozy!

We walked a bit by some shops and stopped in a place called Cafe Crepe. I had a breakfast baguette with egg, fresh tomato, basil, and bacon, and a side of hash browns. Danielle had crepe with lemon and sugar (just like we Stewarts like it!), fruit, and poached eggs! It was so yummy and nice to chat some more. We then walked and got drinks from Starbucks and wander more through shops and gazed through windows.

Vancouver is such an amazing city. I instantly had a giant smile on my face as soon as we got onto street level from the sky train. Danielle explained my feelings perfectly when she said that as soon as she gets downtown Vancouver she is instantly happy. It was so true. Everyone looks great, stylish, there are Starbucks on every corner, it's gorgeous and has such an urban feel but also has the sense of community. I fell in love.

We took the sky train back to Surrey and Kyle picked us up. We drove to Langley and had dinner at Red Robins (apparently it has Kyle's favourite vegetarian burgers!), and then we walked to the Willowbrook mall to look for a Gap for Kyle, which they failed to have. So we peed, and left! We came back to Surrey and watched Apollo 13. Or should I say me and Kyle watched Apollo 13, Danielle slept! :)

Needless to say I'm exhausted! It's midnight, so technically 1 a.m. for me and I've been up since 5:30 a.m.! I get to sleep in tomorrow though, Kyle will be doing homework all day, so I can study also. I might go for a walk too, Kyle has a spare key I can use.

Anyways, I am enjoying this get away so much, and I'm so in love with Danielle. We haven't run out of things to talk about yet and we have seemed to click really well! I love her already!

I hope you all had a lovely Wednesday,

xoxo
Ruth
